At just 17 years old, Rak attended an open audition for the national tour of the groundbreaking musical Cats. Competing against seasoned professionals, she made it to the final round and received a life-changing phone call offering her a role.
Faced with a choice between finishing high school and seizing her dream, Rak chose the stage. With the support of her school, she left a few weeks before graduation to join the tour. This bold move led to her famous mantra: “I didn’t go to College, I went to ‘Cats’.” It was the first of many national tours, including a role in Starlight Express that took her to Germany, where she learned to perform the entire show in German.
Conquering the Broadway Stage
Rachelle Rak’s career on Broadway is nothing short of extraordinary. She has graced the stage in some of the most iconic productions of our time, including Fosse, Catch Me If You Can, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Oklahoma!, and The Look of Love.
