Happy Labor Day! Even though summer doesn't officially end until Sept. 22, this weekend is generally considered to be the last hurrah. On Memorial Day, I posted my bucket list for summer. Now, it is time to review and see how much of that list I checked off since May.

SUMMER 2013 BUCKET LIST REVIEW (completed items highlighted in red)
  • Attend my first St. Louis Cardinals baseball game- I didn't make it to a baseball game this year, I didn't even watch one on TV. September is the postseason chase, and there are tickets available. I still have a chance to root, root root for the home team before the fat lady sings.
  • Take a tour of Warm Springs Ranch- The famous Budweiser Clydesdales didn't get a visit from me this summer, BUT I have tickets for the tour in October! Expect a blog post about the that and some other Boonville, Mo. fun next month.
  • Have a picnic- I surprised my fiance with a picnic at Stephen's Lake Park in Columbia, Mo. during the annual Art in the Park festival. In case you missed it, I blogged all about it here.
  • Spend a weekend in Rocheport, Mo.- I spent an evening in Rocheport for Boone Dwaddle, but that doesn't count. I'm still holding out for a romantic, relaxing weekend in the Missouri River town complete with a stay at one of its B&Bs.
  • Visit Missouri wineries- This summer, I went to Les Bourgeois Vineyards,  Ste. Genevieve Winery and Chaumette Vineyards and Winery.
  • Host a backyard barbecue-This didn't happen. I was thinking about planning something for September, but my weekends are filling up fast.
  • Visit a state park-My fiance and I went hiking at Hawn State Park in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. in August. It's a beautiful place, but the temperature was in the high 90s while we were there. Needless to say, we were extremely hot! I'd recommend checking it out in the fall or spring.
  • Go on a random drive- I did a lot of driving this summer, but none of it was random.
  • See fireworks on the 4th of July-My Independence Day didn't go exactly as planned, but I did get to see fireworks. My fiance and I went to the big festival at the state capitol. First, we had a horrible dinner from a food truck, and then a storm hit.  We ended up driving home and watching our local fireworks display.
  • See a play at Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre- My plan was to go see the Lyceum Theatre's  production of Meet Me in St. Louis in July. But, then I saw the movie for the first time. It pretty much eliminated any desire I had to see the musical. My fiance wanted to take me to see Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced for our six-year anniversary, but I was out of town in Houston, TX. There are still two shows, Steel Magnolias and Tuna Does Vegas, left in the season, but I don't think this item is going to get crossed off my list this year.
  • Go Camping- I went "glamping" at Redbeard's Ranch in Lebanon, Mo. the first weekend in August. ICYMI, check out the blog post here.

I had a great summer, even if I didn't do everything on my bucket list. What's on the horizon for September and beyond? You'll just have to keep reading the PNM MEDIA blog, "Like" PNM Media on Facebook, and "Follow" on Twitter,  Instagram & Google + to find out!
